Inside the mind of Sven

Sven Goran Eriksson is at it again. He's harping on about having a full four week break before the start of the World Cup Finals next Summer, which would mean the FA Cup Final would have to be played on a Wednesday night! An insane proposal, especially as it will be the first FA Cup Final at the new Wembley stadium. The man is an idiot, but we knew that already.

The timing of his pathetic requests is what is comical. He wants to spend 4 weeks with the players. To do what? At the moment, the squad is on international duty with him, and this morning, the neanderthal that is Wayne Rooney is the subject of a Police investigation after battering some kid in a nightclub at 1am. Nice. Well done Sven. If this is what the players get up to when they are with you, our chances in the World Cup will be better if they only turn up a good four hours before the start, not four weeks!

And why four weeks anyway? It's not as if there is a tactical genius in charge, who needs to make slight adjustments to his formations and plans. This is the man who has made the same mistakes again and again in every game. He's got the best set of midfield players in years to work with, and instead, he spends his time begging the past-it Scholes to come back. Why? Because he doesn't know what to do with the players he has got. It actually requires some thinking, and he is about to get found out. Again.

So what is it to be this weekend Sven? Andy Johnson in goal this time? Shaun Wright-Phillips at left-back? Or even Emile Heskey up-front? (Please, no!)

What a close shave we had when we tried to get him at the Bridge. With luck he'll go to Man Utd when he's pushed, but I can't see him being able to find another job in English football when the national team job ends, or wanting one when the press take him out.
