Centenary Teams
Chelsea 4-1 Palace. Both teams formed in 1905 celebrating together! The bookies never thought the result was in doubt, offering 16/1 on a Palace win before the start.
We started well again, and Joe Cole put in his 5th consecutive superb performance. A trademark Frank Lampard strike from 30 yards put us in the driving seat only for Palace star-man Aki Riihilahti to take advantage when Big Frank took his eye off the ball while defending a corner and make it level. Andy Johnson should really have made it 2-1 in added time, but dragged his shot well wide.
The second half saw a really great combined effort from Boris and Joey to take it to 2-1, and Duff soon made way for the return of Arjen Robben! Kezman came on with 20 minutes to go and doubled his league tally with two great strikes...the first slipping under the Palace 'keeper in a shocker of an error.
A good result. 8 games to go, 15 points required. Sunshine, and the return of Robben. Nice!
